How MelaCheck Works

1. Book Your Free Telehealth Consultation

Choose a convenient appointment time and complete a brief skin health questionnaire before your consultation.

2. Discuss Your Skin Concerns
During your telehealth appointment, your clinician will review:

  • Your skin concern

  • Medical history

  • Family history of skin cancer

  • Previous skin cancers (if any)

  • Sun exposure history

  • Risk factors

 

3. Capture Images Using MelaCheck

Using the MelaCheck skin imaging device, you’ll take detailed images of the mole or skin lesion under your clinician’s guidance.

The enhanced images allow for closer examination of important skin structures.

4. Clinical Assessment

Your clinician carefully reviews the images together with your medical history to determine whether the lesion appears:

  • Low risk
  • Requires monitoring

What We Assess During Your Consultation

Our clinicians assess skin lesions using the internationally recognised ABCDE Skin Cancer Assessment:

  • A – Asymmetry: One half does not match the other.
  • B – Border: Irregular, blurred, or uneven edges.
  • C – Colour: Multiple colours or uneven pigmentation.
  • D – Diameter: Larger than approximately 6 mm.
  • E – Evolving: Changes in size, colour, shape, or symptoms over time.

 

Additional symptoms such as itching, bleeding, pain, crusting, or rapid growth are also considered during your assessment.
