Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHCP)
What is a Mental Health Care Plan ?
A Mental Health Care Plan (officially known as a Mental Health Treatment Plan) is a comprehensive review of your mental wellbeing. The plan can be conducted by doctors via telehealth consultations. During your consultation, the doctor will assess your current mental health, discuss your coping strategies, take a brief history, and may ask you to complete a questionnaire.
Based on this assessment, our doctor will create a personalized plan that makes you eligible for Medicare rebates, allowing you to access 6 free sessions with a registered psychologist. After these 6 sessions, you can return for a review of your plan, which may qualify you for an additional 4 sessions. In total, you could receive up to 10 Medicare-subsidised sessions with a psychologist each calendar year.
